Our food pantry distribution was wonderful this month. Along with our bag of groceries, there were eggs, bread and meat. Our hygiene bag, provided by Rock of Zion Church, is a blessing to our clients. Also we would like to thank Charlie's Restaurant for the donation of the eggs and jiffy mix. As many of you already know, the Rice family (Ken, Bob and Ms. Joyce) suffered a devastating fire at their home in Reelsboro. Since that time, so many of you have expressed a desire to help the family financially. The Rice family are all life-long members of New Hope Christian Church and we at New Hope are gladly taking this worthy project on as a way to help them. We are opening up this avenue as a means for friends, neighbors, and other churches to be able to contribute. Please make checks payable to New Hope Christian Church (specifying on the memo line donation Rice Family /2017) and mail to New Hope Christian Church--5916 NC Hwy 55 East--New Bern--NC--28560. We will make sure that every single donation goes directly to the Rice Family, and a card will be kept with names of those who donated. God bless each of you and please continue to pray for this family in the weeks and months ahead. We thank you in advance, and we also give a big shout out to the fire fighters and first responders who worked so diligently on the day of the fire.
